About the Opportunity FAR AWAY is an international hackathon for students and young builders aged 15–25 , organised by Zuup , a youth-led nonprofit under Zylon Labs. This is not a typical hackathon. It’s designed to push you from idea → MVP → real-world product. The top 5 teams win a fully sponsored trip to Japan (flights, accommodation, and meals included). Who Can Participate Open to anyone aged 15–25 Beginners are welcome (no prior experience required) You can register solo or as a team Teams can have up to 5 members Hackathon Format (3 Rounds) Round 1: Online (MVP Submission) Build your project remotely from anywhere 5 themes will be released 7 days before submission deadline You must choose one theme and build a working MVP Submission format: Working demo + GitHub + optional PPT/video Top 100 teams qualify for Round 2 Dates: 1 June – 7 June 2026 Round 2: In-Person (Delhi) 24-hour offline hackathon in New Delhi Continue your Round 1 project You will be given tasks/features to implement on your MVP Judging based on execution, innovation, and scalability Top 5 teams qualify for the final round Dates: 15–16 June 2026 (Travel/accommodation not guaranteed yet; updates will be shared post Round 1) Round 3: Grand Finale (Japan) Top 5 teams travel to Japan (fully sponsored) Final product showcase + advanced challenge Projects expected to be polished, scalable, and near industry-level Dates: Early July 2026 (tentative) Rules & Guidelines Open innovation within provided themes No restriction on tech stack, tools, or AI usage Both software and hardware projects allowed Projects must be original Teams: 1–5 members Mentors are allowed only for guidance (no direct contribution) What You Win Top 5 Teams: Fully sponsored 5-day trip to Japan All Finalists: Certificates + Zuup Alumni Network access Top Performers: Internship opportunities with partner companies Additional prizes and rewards to be announced About Zuup Zuup is a youth-led nonprofit focused on skills, building, and real-world impact .
